M&F Bank CEO Appointed to FDIC Advisory Subcommittee on MDIs

James ‘Jim’ Sills, President and CEO of M&F Bank, and Kyle Chavis, CEO of Lumbee Guaranty Bank, were recently appointed to the Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs) subcommittee of the FDIC’s Advisory Committee on Community Banking.

On December 3, Jim and Kyle were invited to D.C. to meet with the leadership team of FDIC Chair Jelena McWilliams. The group came together to discuss the most pressing issues impacting MDIs in the US. As part of the eight-member subcommittee, the pair were able to ensure that North Carolina’s community banks were adequately represented and received the attention they deserve.

We are proud to see our state’s bankers reaching out to regulators and sharing their stories. We thank Jim and Kyle for their advocacy on behalf of North Carolina’s community banks and encourage all of our bankers to follow their example! SOURCE: https://www.ncbankers.org/
